Breaking Ground...You can just start to see the view we are after.
Excavating a house site on the side of a mountain is challenging. Each home has to be designed to fit the property it goes on. Much different than building on flat ground.
Over sized reinforced footings are next. Everything depends on these. Excavation must be on solid ground below frost line. The concrete has to pumped due to slope and step downs.
Solid concrete walls @ 4000psi are then formed and poured to create the basement level and the retaining walls for the garage.
Framing our way back up to the main level. I think we are going to have a great view from here!
Big glass and a great view from in basement. The framing is 2x6 exterior walls with engineered trusses for the floor systems.
Deck framing in place. Waiting for 2x6 cedar decking to cover. Also waiting on 1x6 Peckey Cypress for porches and eaves. Special order last minute decisions to improve natural durability of exteriors.
Laying out the swimming pool.
Here is some of the heavy timber framing involved.
Timber notching
Swimming pools are a challenge on sloped ground but worth the trouble when done.
Framing for the ever popular party porch.
Almost ready for the pool walls to be sprayed on.

Decided to go with spray foam insulation to control air quality as well as temp. There are many additional things to consider when using foam. Warranties on related product and outside air exchange just to name a couple.
Very nice wood doors. Also a nice bonus room above.
Mahogany Entry with "Speak Easy".
Showers going in, rock in...
The walnut flooring and plastered walls make good contrast. Custom built cabinets with granite tops. Cabinet lighting check looks good.
Living room fire place is plastered with entry on both sides to the party deck. Master bath tile. Master bedroom with wood burning fireplace. Tiled shower.
